Authenticity & Devotion are our inner strength. Our knowledgeable priests and dedicated devotees make our Debi puja the most enjoyable one. We’re the first organization to introduce Kumari Puja in 1999 and 2-Days Durgapuja later. We follow the usual "Boidik" path of puja and maintain all customary process that are followed in family puja (not public) in West Bengal and puja in Rama Krishna missions.
Around 1999, a few Bengali families in Dallas felt badly the need of a "true family style" Durgapuja in Dallas where the actual puja would receive highest priority. With just an initial 30 families , the puja on actual "puja tithi" was launched in 1999 with first Kumari Puja in USA. Since we introduced "warmth of a a family" in a public puja, one founding member proposed a name of the group "ANTORIK". As of now, ANTORIK is considered one of the most prestigious and well-honored community organization in USA. From initial 30 families, the number of families who attend now is more than 500.
We are the first overseas organization who pursued Kumartuli artist Gorachand Paul & Sons to build fiberglass protima. Initially they were hesitant as they’ve never built any such protima in a commercial way. Since the concept of protima immersion does not exist in USA, organizations used to have "solar" protima, the same protima year after year. But we went one step ahead , showed the path to have fiberglass protima. It took 5 months and lots of shipping/handling/customs-duty issues … at last by sea and ground the protima reached here in Dallas (in 2004). People were amazed to see such gorgeous protima and opened the door for Pradyout Paul (young leader of Gorachand Paul & Sons company) in the overseas protima market.
It has several parts – preparation for puja itself, puja logistics, local cultural program and
guest artists. Guest artists selection and signing contract with them starts several months before
the puja while other parts start around summer. Intense preparation
and training for cultural programs by loacl artists also starts
during the summer. Many esteemed artists,
including Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, Haimanti Sukla, Patho Ghosh & Gouri Ghosh,
Jagannath & Urmimala Basu, Subhamita, Arnab Chakraborty, and
Aneek Dhar, have performed at our Durga Puja in prior years.
