A spectacular event
Sep 26, 2009 - We had a record turnout of nearly 900 people! Everybody enjoyed our Puja and cultural programs including memorable performances by Subhomita, Arnab Chakraborty and Mayuri Ray. The auditorium was rocking, everyone was on the dance floor, and nobody wanted it to end! We’d like to thank our volunteers, members, and many out-of-town guests from Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Austin - together, you made it a spectuacular event.

Bijoya celebration
Oct 3, 2009 - The auditorium was packed and abuzz despite the pouring rain. Sanchita Bhattacharya set the mood with her exquisite Odissi performance, "The Draupadi Phenomenan". The baton was then passed to the artists of the Antorik community, and boy did they put on a show or what? A fantastic drama performance, Roopkatha-O-Kalpolok, with nicely woven energetic dance performances took our breath away. Dinner was next, the menu was awesome and everybody devoured the food "kobji dubiye". But the best was saved for the last... Jagannath Basu & Urmimala Basu gave us a taste of the absolute best of what Bengali culture is about. They performed several unbelievably enjoyable sruti-natoks to a captivated audience who were transported to another world and intermittently driven to tears of laughter. It was a perfect ending to a perfect evening.
