A commitment to charity

Antorik is a strong believer in charitable endeavors that try to make the world a better place for the less fortunate among us. We proudly support the various causes and organizations close to our heart with regular financial contributions, heartfelt moral support, and volunteering our time.

Karma Yoga

Based on the Vedanta philosophy, the great Indian thinker Swami Vivekananda has given a new philosophy of charitable work for the modern world. 'Every human is potentially Divine'. 'Service to mankind is service to God'. Instead of looking upon a needy person as an object of pity, he is looked upon as an object of worship. This attitude elevates both the giver and the recipient. It was Swamiji who coined the word 'Daridra-Narayana' to refer to the poor ('Daridra' means poor, and 'Narayana' is God).

According to Vedanta, the physical universe is a manifestation of God. Swami Vivekananda's disciple, Sister Nivedita, said that there is 'no distinction between the sacred and the secular', i.e. all work is sacred.

Charity or work done thus as worshipful service becomes a spiritual discipline or Yoga. It is this understanding of service as a spiritual discipline that is known as Karma Yoga.

RamKrishna Vedanta Society

Founded in New York in 1894 by the famous monk Swami Vivekananda, disciple of Sri RamKrishna Paramhansa, this legendary organization has been serving the less fortunate in India and South East Asia with various kinds of charitable work including disaster relief, education, shelter, health, and such. It would an understatement to say that the Vedanta Society, also known as the RamKrishna Mission, is one of the most revered and trusted charity organizations in the region, if not the world.

Lily Foundation of America

The Lily Foundation aims to break the cycle of poverty through education. This decade old organization is doing some extraordinary work through targeted educational support for the less fortunate and at risk children by running many education centers, study homes, computer centers, coaching centers, libraries, and such.

Disaster Relief

Antorik provides regular financial support for various disaster relief efforts around the world like Earthquake in Haiti, Hurricane Aila, Tsunami in South Asia, etc.
